Getting something back after deleting it

Deleting a contact, company, deal or task does not destroy it. It goes to the Recycle Bin, where you can put it back.

Restoring

Open Recycle Bin, find it, restore. Everything attached comes back with it — notes, tasks, conversation history.

Permanent deletion

There is also a permanent delete, and that one is final. Use it when somebody asks you to erase their data and you need to be able to say honestly that you have.

If a customer asks you to delete their data under a privacy law, permanent deletion is the step that satisfies it. Restoring from the recycle bin is not deletion.
