Tracking deals through your pipeline

Stages, values, and what the weighted figure actually means.

A deal is a thing you are trying to sell to somebody, with a value and a stage.

Stages

Each stage carries a probability — how likely a deal at that stage is to close. Drag a deal between stages, or use the dropdown on the card.

Two stages are special: Won and Lost. Marking a deal either way records the date and takes it out of your open pipeline.

Value, and weighted value

The header shows two numbers.

  • Total is what every open deal is worth if they all close.
  • Weighted is each deal's value multiplied by its stage probability, added up.

The weighted figure is the honest one for forecasting. Ten deals worth $10,000 sitting at a 20% stage is $20,000 of likely revenue, not $100,000.

Losing a deal

Record why. It costs a second and it is the only way the Won and lost report can tell you what you keep losing to.

A deal with no contact attached is a deal nobody can follow up. Link one when you create it.
